Beauty Post : PUPA I'M LIPSTICK Review

I was recently sent the PUPA I'm lipstick in 102 STRAWBERRY MILK to review and you can see the result in the selfies I snapped before a night out.

It is a very moisturising lipstick, the colour I used is quite a lovely colour, especially for summer and I really like the texture. Like most moisturising lipsticks, it won't hold against food and drink and will need to be reapplied but the packaging is really cute and not too large so you can carry it around with you. What I liked most about it is that it really defined my lips and it  is very easy to apply - I didn't even need to use a lip brush. It also comes in 40 different shades so for those who never find a shade they like ....with b40 to choose from...I think you're sorted.

Outfit Post : THE ADVENTURES OF THE BLUE SUNGLASSES - THE BEGINNING

This is the story of a pair of Blue Sunglasses. I have previously related the end of this story, yes I told the story backwards, if you haven't read it, you can have a choice, to read the end first as life intended or to read the beginning now and the end later. This part of the story is the tale of the TRIP.

Since the colour blue is predominantly tied to boys, I have attributed the male gender to the blue sunglasses character in this story.

The blue sunglasses were used to a life of boredom, of lying still, of waiting and waiting. Chance one day whisked them away out of that life into a brand new world of adventure. Blue found himself travelling through space as he put it, hearing different languages, seeing exciting buildings, all was new to BLUE. Occasionally he thoughr about SHE and he felt a little sad but most of the time life was too exciting.

Beauty Post : Pale PINK Nails Inspiration

This new nail look is an interesting one for me - my nails are all one colour !!!! And it isn't even a bright colour or a pattern of any sort....it wasn't the plan..the plan was to have another colour painted on top of the pale pink taking up 3/4 of the nail on one hand and a 1/4 on the other but they simply looked to gorgeous like this, I couldn't bear to change them. As usual thanks to Femme Beauty in Attard and Christina who has sooo much patience.

For more pink inspiration here's some more pinkness

I looked through the shops for some exciting pink stuff...lots and lots of pink stuff to buy

Outfit Post : Yellow & Black | Gold & Bronze

About a month ago I went to the Fossil Birthday celebrations. It had been a long day so I felt like wearing something comfortable - these trousers from River Island are really really awesome..I've actually bought three of them (different patterns and colours) and I wore my Antonio Grimaldi top again - remember my review of his AltaRoma show

I also wore a new piece of the new Coccinelle collection, this bag is absolutely gorgeous, such a wonderful colour, brown/bronze/gold..I'm not quite sure what to call this colour.

Interview Post : Model Claire Ciantar

Claire Ciantar is currently one of Malta's hottest models - she has recently both won the Malta Fashion Awards Best Model Award and also been selected by Ferramoda to represent them at the New Model Today Gran Gala de la Mode competition in Riccione next week. Standing at almost 6 feet tall with legs that go on for miles and enviable looks to boost, Claire is definitely one to watch.

Claire recently also modelled in a photoshoot for Ferragiu shot by Kurt Paris (a new luxury designer couture brand that will be launched at Riccione) - below.

Let's get to know Claire a bit better:)

Who is Claire ?
I am 18 years old and a university student studying communications and European studies. I consider myself to be an honest and a very positive person, I try my best to be very professional in all I do. Apart from modelling, I  also love singing and sports. In fact I'm also a basketball and tennis player.

How did you get into modelling ?
Pure coincidence! I was scouted by my fashion mummy Marisa Grima of Supernova model . She spotted me on Facebook and it all began from there, that same year (2012) I won the Supernova Competition and modelled at The Clothes Show Live in Birmingham.

Has your life changed a lot, what about your personal style ?
Yes it has changed in a lot of ways, to be honest, time is very limited nowadays as modelling and sport plus all the studying takes a huge chunk of my time. Naturally even my lifestyle had to adjust with all the activity around me. But what is most important to me is that I remain with my feet well planted on the ground and that I never change who I am. I definitely want to remain the same person people around me have grown to love and respect.

My style has also changed a lot - I went from being plain jane to a risk taker when it comes to clothes! I love creating my own style, one that brings out my personality and I also learned not to care what other people think as much and and just be comfortable in my own style. I love fashion and I try to keep myself updated with new trends and styles and adjust them to my own liking.

Favourite top model ?
My favourite top model has to be Cara Delevigne, how can you not love Cara ?!! She's a tomboy with an impeccable taste in clothes, she eats and loves bacon like normal people. She knows how to have fun and isn't always serious, from photos of her in baths of beans to beanie hats she really shows us her true character. She has modelled for many big brands like Chanel, Victoria Secrete, Tom Ford, Mulberry, Yves Saint Laurent, Burberry, the list is never ending ! Recently I also found out that she knows how to sing too, so that makes me like her even more !

Dreams and ambitions ?
My first objective is to graduate from university as i think it is of utmost importance that I finish my education and secure my future. In the meantime I aim to continue progressing in modelling hoping that one day I can achieve my dream of modelling for prestigious brands. I am also adamant to continue practicing my favourite sport 0 basketball. I have already represented Malta in two tournaments and I'm hoping Ill have more opportunities to wear the national kit in the future.

Outfit Post : Roaming Around Rome

You might remember around a month ago I went to Rome and ALTARoma..I posted photos of what I wore to the events but I took my time with the general roaming around Rome daily outfits ..sorry..I've been trying to work a little less in August as I was feeling a little burnt out and needed some general rest.

But here's a 2-in-1 special :D. When on holiday my main priority is always comfort and the ability to walk walk walk and did I mention walk ? This trip in particular involved an immense amount of walking so I took up my most comfortable pair of sandals - Ecco sandals (King Shoe Shop Malta, similar in style to Birkenstocks - more of the whole ugly sandal trend) but the special thing about these shoes is that they allow for custom orthotics insoles to fit in place of the original footbed.

This day was a Sunday and I spent it shopping around the Spanish Steps area, visiting the Andy Warhol exhibition and just simply enjoying Rome...it was a bit rainy unfortunately but oh well.

This next outfit was for the last day which we spent visiting the Colosseum (there's a new brilliant tour that you can book that takes you both underground and right to the very top), eating pizza, more walking, and a little bit more shopping :D I got the chance to wear my lovely new Coccinelle hat :D What do you think of it ?

Events Post : Charles & Ron at Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa

Last week, Charles and Ron, Malta's most established designers, unveiled a micro summer collection at the fabulous Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa. It was a beautiful, well-organised event that I thoroughly enjoyed, it was attended by their esteemed clientele as well as people who work within the industry and have supported them throughout the years. What I loved most about the event was the all-round jubilant mood, putting aside the fact that people tend to be in a good mood in Summer, everyone who was there seemed genuinely happy to be there, happy to be showing support to the designers and has a great admiration for their work. This last part was also evident in the way many guests raided the store (also in Corinthia) the minute they realised that there's a 30% off promotion throughout August (you might want to run to the store infact).

The pic above was the grand finale piece, a standout fifties-inspired dress that the gorgeous Daniela pulled off with a lot of oomph. The rest of the collection had a very summery, colourful vibe with lovely tailoring and beautiful prints and fabrics. The picture below shows what appeared to be the main print of this micro collection. A very striking print, I love the way the different colours blend into each other without any harsh separations. My favourite piece is the first one, modelled by Amy, such a pretty, flattering cut.

Below, pastel mint colour also made an appearance on mid-length and floor length gowns that are the perfect outfits for a summer wedding or formal party.

Cobalt blue is such a striking colour and flattering on so many different skin tones. I found both these dresses very interesting with the second one giving off a slightly more casual appearance due to its somewhat sporty suggestion in the neckline.

These three dresses below all stole my heart for different reasons, the first lilac one has that touch of lace that is just sweet perfection, the middle dress is very chic but at the same time gives off an effortless vibe and the last one screams stunning goddess.

Beautiful pink fabric combined with lace is always magical. I think I prefer the longer version of this dress though as I feel the proportions seem to work better or maybe it's because there's more pink.

Purple, or Radiant Orchid as Pantone have named it, is one of the main colours for the approaching fall season, so these dresses below could be ones to buy now and wear in a few months time to any of the umpteenth events that seem to exist in Autumn and the first part of Winter. My favourite is the first one worn by model Jacqui - so chic!

A lovely evening in great company looking at beautiful clothes designed by extremely talented local designers - what more could a girl ask for ?

Beauty Post : Coloured Eyeliners and a PUPA Review

A few months ago I discovered coloured mascaras and black eyelashes were suddenly a thing of my past.....now, I've suddenly got a thing for coloured liquid eyeliners and it's a strong possibility that black lined eyes are also going to slowly fade away from my life.

I've always loved colour, barring a short phase were my fifteen-year-old self thought anything not black is so uncool and actually committed the blasphemy of saying pink is for kids, at all other points in my life I've loved colour..... an extra cherry on top for pink. This colour fondness has always been somewhat incorporated within my makeup, it's not uncommon at all for me to be sporting bright orange and yellow eyes, especially throughout the warmer months. Coloured liquid eyeliners are a fab way of dressing up your eyes with minimal effort. The great thing about them, is that whilst they ofc also look fab paired with eyeshadow, they also look equally fab worn alone...meaning your makeup job time has been halved.

PUPA Malta recently sent me two great products to experiment with from the summer collection - a green liquid eyeliner and a lovely palette with two eyeshadow colours - pink and green (N0S 004) ! I've spent most of the past week wearing these products in different ways ...but the one that struck my fancy most was the idea of wearing them together (check out first pic)..it's quite a bold look, but I think it looks really nice and somewhat original which is always a plus for me.

In terms of product quality, the eyeliner is perfect, easy to apply (it's a felt tip so no wobbling) and its staying power is ridiculously good, the only con infact is that it takes a while to remove even with waterproof remover. The eyeshadow is lovely, the colours are not as bright as they seem in the palette but they can be made brighter if multiple layers are applied, the consistency is nice and not chalky and they glides on smoothly. Again staying power is brilliant.

So colour on your eyes...what do you think ..?
