Shopping Post : Skater Dresses on Sale

By popular request - after yesterday's post some more sale items with a focus on dresses - skater dresses to be precise, one of the hottest items we've had his year..and they suit so many different figure types, they're great for pear shaped girls, great for hourglass and can also be pulled off by apples sometimes (find one with a higher waistline that's right under the bust).

Now you may notice that I haven't listed the shops where these dresses are from - for kicks I'm leaving a bit of mystery on this one....you need to click on the individual images to see where they're from!

Happy Shopping!!

SPOTTED : Final Sale Time - My Picks

If you'e a bargain hunter, then the last few weeks of the sale period is probably a special time for you, it's that time when you can really snap a bargain, often finding items marked down by 70 -80%. A lot of people hate shopping in actual shops during sale time...reason being that there's a lot of confusion...clothes are heaped on top of each other and the likelihood of getting into some sort of fist fight is rather high. That's the beauty of online shopping, it renders human interaction and confusion potential down to nil.

With this in mind.. I decided to choose a couple of online shops and  pick my fave things on sale. Check them out...

Kurt Geiger

These shoes are stunning, I love the heel that for once isn't sky high, the cut out design, the buckles and of course the embellishment - winner!

Interview Spotlight : Model Beverly Tonna

This week we shine the spotlight on a local beauty, Maltese model Beverly Tonna (supernovamodel.com.mt) - I've worked on a number of shoots with Bev and she is one of the loveliest people I know, both inside and outside. She is an excellent model who really steps up to the plate at each and every shoot. She also has this uniquely, beautiful, somewhat vintage look that is captured so well on camera.

Ladies and Gents .. I present Bev...in her own words...

So, who is Beverly Tonna? Tell us something about yourself that you feel is unique to you.

Well, I'm a second year law student and take school very seriously, I have recently started an internship with a law firm but that’s the boring stuff I guess. I don’t eat meat because I simply adore animals. I enjoy socializing and meeting new people from different countries,  I feel it really enriches me as a person to have an insight about different cultures and ways people think.

When did your interest in modeling first begin? Were you scouted or did something happen?

It actually started as something my friends and I wanted to do for fun at the Shout Magazine competition when I was 13, but that didn't really work out for me. I was sure I would never model, but I came across Marisa Grima (founder of supernovamodel) one time, literally bumped into her, we spoke and set up a coffee date which led to a casting for a fashion show. I was 15 when I got chosen, and it all took off from there.

What inspires you? Is there anyone or anything that you feel has influenced your modeling style?
As per my mum’s advice, I prefer being myself at all times so I'm more inclined towards fun, quirky, natural shoots. Nonetheless, I do enjoy the occasional edgy look, it’s a challenge for me. Since I enjoy acting so much, I prefer commercials since it combines both modeling and acting. My mum always supported me, and since I started relatively young, she did influence my style, as you can still look good without showing too much. Additionally, Marisa always pushes for professional looking work, so she helped me learn to decipher a good modeling job from a bad one, despite whether or not the bad one seemed appealing.

What has been your proudest career moment?
Modeling started off as a simple hobby, because due to my skin condition (Vitiligo) I always thought I couldn't get far. However, having modeling in shoots for magazines and partaking in a number of fashion shows really gave me a boost! My proudest moment was getting chosen for L’Oreal Business Forum fashion show, and being  selected as the “IT Girl”, which was really fun especially since I was given a complete makeover by world renowned hairdressers.

Describe your favourite photo/fashion show you have ever modeled for? Why is it your favourite?

This is one of my favourites, I really enjoyed this fashion show by LUKEAZZOPARDI because a lot of dedication and time was put into it and it was very well organized. I like this photo because it’s really unusual and it really captured a great moment.

Would you call yourself a fashionable girl in real life? How would you describe your style? What is the weirdest thing you have eve worn?

I like the vintage look, and mixing and matching different items of clothing. I’ve been called stylish before but I think I get it mainly from my sister who’s always urging me to put on some make up or do my hair, and my best friend Niky who manages to make everything and anything look gorgeous. Gaby Curmi, Alexia Micallef Gatt (who are supernova models too) and I are always 'whatsapping' photos of different styles or outfits we’re wearing, and since they're both into fashion I think it helped me “up my game” when it comes to dressing up and going out. I think the weirdest thing I've ever worn is this lime jacket I bought, which I insisted on trying to wear with everything, let’s just say I should have come to you for advice!

Do you have a few images you can share with us?

Shopping Post : L'Atelier Paris

For this week's edition of Caroline hits a  shop and shows you their stock, I'm transporting you to Paris, to a delightful little shop I found in the Latin Quarter of Paris on rue Mouffetard L'Atelier. A shop selling the most exquisite handmade jewellery and some of the most stunning hats/ gloves and shawls I have ever encountered.

Immediately upon entering the store, I knew I had found a 'treasure'...the hats were what drew me in, well lets face it I am a hat person and there were so many beautiful ones, each one different, each one having something unique and original ..but when I was in there thee were so man things that drew my eye.. I couldn't leave.. I think I drew the poor woman mad..trying on hat after hat (and she patiently adjusted each one and showed me different ways to wear them) and picking up different things.

You can check out their website L'Atelier but if you find yourself in Paris, do hunt this shop down - you won't regret it.

Shopping Post : Hitting Armani Jeans at The Point

First of all some interesting news, over the next few months I am going to be collaborating with Armani Jeans Malta which is just super duper because I really love the brand; they have such stylish clothes! I decided to hang around the store at the Point yesterday evening and check out their new collection and I decided that for this week's edition of 'Caroline hits a store and shows you their new stock'  we have -  Armani Jeans at the Point.

*Interesting Fact - did you know that Armani Jeans Baystreet and Armani Jeans, The Point do not necessarily stock the same things?*

The store at the Point is located on the topmost level of the mall and I really like the way it's styled, with a TV showing related commercials/shows, different stands and shelving positioned throughout the shop and just a really nice vibe without any pretentious or formal airs. Although I'm right at home in a bazaar-dig-through-mountains-of-stuff-kind-of shop, sometimes it's just really nice to be in a really nice shop.

So right about NOW is definitely the right time to check out some pics of the store and their latest stock that I slaved over for hours and hours and hours....

Because women are more important..and must always come first....the first pics are of course of womenswear

Some nice colours!
Nautical stripes are always around in Spring and Summer aren't they?
The faded ones in the middle are tugging at my willpower ..hmmm..

BELOW : ONLY FOR MEN - NO WOMEN ALLOWED

Really like the colour of these jeans

This season it's all about trainers and sneakers, loving the colour on these ones.
Just about every colour of polo shirt you could possibly wish for.

In case you want more Armani Jeans or just like the brand you can follow them on their facebook page here

My Styling Work : Venere Avant-Garde Bridal

This week's edition of lifestyle and fashion, Maltese TV programme Venere featured my styling work!  I collaborated with Marquita Kemper, the fantastic and brilliant owner of bridal store Wedding Bells in Valletta, Malta. The photographer, an Italian photographer based in Malta, Federico Peltretti came up with the brilliant idea of creating a shot inspired by French Haute Couture and John Galliano, specifically John Galliano and the beautiful, extravagant collections he has produced over the years.

Photography: Federico Peltretti,
Hair: Chris Galea, Guy Galea
Makeup: Elaine Galea Venere using Inglot,

Styling: Caroline Paris
Bridal Stylist & Clothes : Marquita Kemper Wedding Bells
Co-ordination: Adrian J Mizzi,
Shoot for Venere produced by Motion blur and Unique Promotions

The models were Rebecca Montaldo below :

Jennifer Belli (below), who got a tad emotional throughout this shoot as she is actually getting married this year

and Katryona Calleja

Chris and Guy from Michael and Guy created two fabulous wigs for Katryona and Jennifer that perfectly matched the theme and Elaine applied some beautiful avant garde make up looks. Rebecca's hair was crimped and twisted so as to create volume and then it was fashioned into a really cool messy/big  style.

All the clothes and accessories are by Faragé, the French bridal house, (available From Wedding Bells) and the shoes are from Aldo

A big well done to the whole team, I'm very happy with the result:)
