On Saturday the 24th May, the New Designers Fashion Show will take place as part of Malta Fashion Week 2014. This is the show in which emerging local designers have the chance to show the country their designs and basically get noticed, it is also a form of competition as one designer will win the best new designer award at the Malta Fashion Awards one week later. In anticipation of this event, (one of my favourite in the whole week) , I will be shining the spotlight on each of these 'new designers'.
Today we shine the spotlight on Celeste - a brand made up of two female designers creating womenswear.
Martina Spiteri is the woman behind Celeste and she started out back in 2009, when she was still just 17. Two of her first designed outfits were shown on Phase magazine, she followed this up by attending a short course in Fashion Design and then followed a tailoring course at MCAST. This will be her third time participating in Malta Fashion week, the name of her collection is is Douleur (French for pain and grief) is inspired by the five stages of grief that follow death, here is a sneak peek into this collection - gorgeous fabric
Her future plans include finding more time to focus on my brand and collections as well as increasing her clientèle.
