Malta Fashion Week : SARTO : 2015

The SARTO event at Malta Fashion Week was a satellite, private affair, it was a lovely event. The theme was Asian, the event took place in the beautiful Gardens of Serenity in Santa Lucia and right in theme there was some delicious cuisine by Zest, creative lighting and even some wonderful Asian dancer-performers. SARTO showcased the wonderful Spring/Summer 2015 collections of Blumarine and Dolce & Gabbana and Armani (menswear).

Dolce and Gabbana remain one of my favourite brands, their clothes are rich and creative, their vision inspired. The Sicilian and Italian influence runs deep within every fragment of their designs. Their clothes are truly special.

Blumarine's concept is quite different but not any less special. This collection is more whimsical, playing up on the sheer and lace trends that have already proved popular with many celebrities. The collection conjures up images of fairies and magical forests in my head.

Besides the runway showacases, there was also the Sergio Rossi exhibit, love those shoes to death.

Some models were flown in from Milan especially for this event. This Blumarine dress below is spectacular.

Events Post : Let's have a bit of DOLCE - Sarto Garden Party

Yesterday I attended a fabulous event - SARTO Garden Party showcased the Spring/Summer 2014 collections by Blumarine, Emporio Armani and Dolce&Gabbana. The central underlying theme of the party was a 'classic Italian wedding' and hence the garden party idea. It was held in the stunning gardens of Girgenti Palace, one of the official residences of the Prime Minister under the auspices of Mrs Michelle Muscat and in aid if the Marigold Foundation.

Fabulous does not begin to describe all these clothes especially the Dolce & Gabbana collection, which of course I had poured over endlessly when it was showcased during Milan Fashion Week. I decided not to work backstage at this event and enjoy the show as a highly pampered guest - Martini cocktails, three course meal catered by Zest, flowing wine - not a bad way to spend a weekday.  However I did arrive some time prior to the start of the event to spend some time backstage; couldn't resist.

Those Shoes !!
For this fashion show both Maltese and foreign models were used and styling and model direction was done by Marisa Grima. The party was setup on turf which also doubled up as a catwalk and this meant the models got to walk barefoot..which was of course very different, both for them and for us..it crated a really nice vibe of couture and relaxation though.

Gorgeous bags, brilliant shoes, intricate gold accessories, print fabrics to-die-for...exquisite lace dresses, I think I wish nearly every piece that was showcased...which actually are for sale at Sarto for a limited time period only.
