I've simply had too many places to go and well at least 5 hours sleep is sort of necessary... but all will be told in the coming weeks - not to worry. In the meantime, for today, here's the first outfit I wore on my first day in Milan, decided to take a bit of Malta Fashion with me :)

Charles & Ron Pre Fall 15

Yesterday Charles & Ron launched their new collection at Moda Malta - a great show - fast-paced, energetic music, good modelling and of course great fashion. The clothes are interesting and have a catchy vibe, there are some lovely dresses, elaborate jackets and some pretty logo sweaters that make you forget it's a logo that's emblazoned on the sweater. The collection is a good mix of wearable items and some more high fashion pieces including the finale - a velvet ball gown with ganutell detailing.

For me, the standout items however, are the accessories, in particular a pink backpack - it's pink, its shiny and its a backpack, honestly what more would a girl want ? Sadly enough, I didn't snap a photo of it, I was too busy admiring it, the same goes for a shiny green bucket bag, something tells me we'll be seeing a lot of these bags around Malta this Winter. Also loved loved loved the wig styling by Alexander.

Styling Work : Made in Malta Fashion Editorial

You may or not know that the popular TV programme Ilsien in-Nisa has recently started a new project - a weekly magazine in which I have my weekly fashion column. The sixth edition of the ilsien in-Nisa Weekly had something a bit more special - a fashion editorial - this is to be a bi-monthly occurrence and I'm the stylist.
For the first editorial, we thought of creating something a bit different - we used exclusively Maltese designer pieces and mixed the different pieces together to create different looks. As the stylist, I didn't simply visit each designer and ‘borrow’ a whole look, I combined different pieces from different designers, (from their latest collections) and combined them. To my knowledge, this is the first time such an editorial has been done in Malta.

The different designers’ collections really intersected well together, there was a lot of common ground as regards styles, colours etc. Our model was Kristen Buhajar who brought a wealth of modelling experience to the shoot. Alexander was the fantastic hair stylist and the creative Mateja was the makeup artists - both did a remarkable job. We shot at the Malta Society of Arts and the photos were taken by Kurt Paris.

Outfit Post : Featuring Carlton Agius

As mentioned here,  twice a month I will be featuring special outfit posts (not of myself but of different people). The idea is that you get the chance to see and learn from different styles and people not just mine. The focus will be mainly on Maltese people but there will be some international guests at some points too.

Our second guest  is Carlton Agius

Name : Carlton Agius

Job : Personal/Creative Assistant at Charles & Ron and freelance Photographer

Style Description : At the moment I’m obsessed with everything Western inspired. I love the cowboy-chic Saint Laurent introduced the last few seasons. Saying this, my style is not constant, meaning that generally with every season or two, I extract my favorite trends from the runways and incorporate them into my wardrobe.

Breakfast each Morning : I don't really make time for breakfast everyday, but when I do, i have a full English breakfast

Time to get Ready each Morning : Normally I plan an outfit in my mind before I go somewhere, so that makes it not much more than 5 minutes to get dressed.

Outfit Details : Top : Givenchy / Shoes : Saint Laurent / Bag : Charles & Ron / Jeans : Thrifted

What do you think of Carlton's style ? Leave a comment and let me know

NEWS : Mrs Muscat meets Mrs Obama & Her Outfit

Photo from MaltaToday FB Page

If you recall, last year I reported that Mrs Michelle Muscat traveled to America to meet Mrs. Michelle Obama. You can read that post here. This year she's traveled to the states again, first of all to attend the summit of Fashion For Development, I'm not sure whether this is going to affect the Maltese fashion industry in any way but I'm hoping it will ..you can read up about the project here - it looks very interesting. I like the dress she's wearing (pic below), have no idea who it's by but the colour and shape are right up my alley..anyone who knows who the designer is let me know.

Anyway, the point is that she met the American First Lady again and she did it once again wearing Charles and Ron (topmost pic above). As usual I've already seen both negative and positive comments on social media as to whether they like the dress or not but I think this is all just besides the point Some people might like one dress more, some another - fashion is after all a subjective art. What I care about ,is that she's chosen to wear a Maltese designer rather than a foreign one and although I'm not with her there, I'm sure she's been asked who the designer is and I'm sure that even if some people disliked the dress, there are many others who like it and those will remember the name Charles and Ron.

My opinion regarding the dress is - I like it, maybe it could have been a tad bit shorter but then again the angle of the photograph is making her appear shorter so that could be why it seems a bit long. I love the net covering, I think its a super stylish way to cover up your shoulders and I'm guessing this might have been a requirement for her. The colour black slims her figure and looks elegant, and the orange colour pops against the black. Charles and Ron had this dress custom made for her. I saw a comment about Mrs Michelle Obama looking younger with her arms exposed - I do want to point out here that Mrs Michelle Obama is notorious for having one of the most toned bodies in the American public limelight..to be honest I don't know if Mrs Michelle Muscat's are toned or not and if she covered them up for this reason, but I think few women's arms look like Michelle Obama's past a certain age, I think I would cover up mine standing next to her.

Now I can't write this post without mentioning her very recent appearance, also in a Charles and Ron dress to greet Prince William - this dress I absolutely adored, first off I love this pattern, have done so since I first saw it at Malta Fashion Week 2014, secondly, I love the way they tailored it to her body. I like it miles better than the orange outfit she wore at the Mass the next day, that I felt aged her slightly.

So now it's your turn.. I want to know whether you like the dress or not ?

Events Post : Charles & Ron at Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa

Last week, Charles and Ron, Malta's most established designers, unveiled a micro summer collection at the fabulous Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa. It was a beautiful, well-organised event that I thoroughly enjoyed, it was attended by their esteemed clientele as well as people who work within the industry and have supported them throughout the years. What I loved most about the event was the all-round jubilant mood, putting aside the fact that people tend to be in a good mood in Summer, everyone who was there seemed genuinely happy to be there, happy to be showing support to the designers and has a great admiration for their work. This last part was also evident in the way many guests raided the store (also in Corinthia) the minute they realised that there's a 30% off promotion throughout August (you might want to run to the store infact).

The pic above was the grand finale piece, a standout fifties-inspired dress that the gorgeous Daniela pulled off with a lot of oomph. The rest of the collection had a very summery, colourful vibe with lovely tailoring and beautiful prints and fabrics. The picture below shows what appeared to be the main print of this micro collection. A very striking print, I love the way the different colours blend into each other without any harsh separations. My favourite piece is the first one, modelled by Amy, such a pretty, flattering cut.

Below, pastel mint colour also made an appearance on mid-length and floor length gowns that are the perfect outfits for a summer wedding or formal party.

Cobalt blue is such a striking colour and flattering on so many different skin tones. I found both these dresses very interesting with the second one giving off a slightly more casual appearance due to its somewhat sporty suggestion in the neckline.

These three dresses below all stole my heart for different reasons, the first lilac one has that touch of lace that is just sweet perfection, the middle dress is very chic but at the same time gives off an effortless vibe and the last one screams stunning goddess.

Beautiful pink fabric combined with lace is always magical. I think I prefer the longer version of this dress though as I feel the proportions seem to work better or maybe it's because there's more pink.

Purple, or Radiant Orchid as Pantone have named it, is one of the main colours for the approaching fall season, so these dresses below could be ones to buy now and wear in a few months time to any of the umpteenth events that seem to exist in Autumn and the first part of Winter. My favourite is the first one worn by model Jacqui - so chic!

A lovely evening in great company looking at beautiful clothes designed by extremely talented local designers - what more could a girl ask for ?

My Styling Work : ILSIEN IN-NISA & CHARLES&RON

For my Maltese readers, local designers Charles and Ron should need no introduction, they are without a doubt currently, Malta's hottest designers. The duo have been producing beautiful collections for many years, with their latest ones being instant sell outs. On the same vein of thought, the local television programme ILSIEN IN-NISA should also need no introduction, with very engaging beautiful hosts and a varied weekly programme, including interesting weekly guests, it's been a success story for them.

At this point, you may be wondering what Charles and Ron, ILSIEN IN-NISA & Caroline's Fashion Styling have in common - here it comes - the new winter season of ILSIEN IN-NISA is soon approaching and there have been some changes -  it seems a male presence is now coming on board - guess who ?.

A new season means a new photoshoot and I was asked to style these fabulous ladies. One of the first photos has been published and the girls are wearing none other than CHARLES&RON's latest collection.  The Charles & Ron’s Spring/Summer 2015 Collection was presented at Malta Fashion Week last May and their concept and underlying theme was our beautiful capital city Valletta (Humilissima Civitas Valletta).

Their idea for this collection was, that they wanted the woman who wears their clothes to feel proud to wear her capital city, a city of splendor and magnificent architecture, just like they want a woman to feel when she wears their clothes. Charles and Ron was the natural choice of designer for the ILSIEN IN-NISA photoshoot. First off, these women all have close blood ties to the city, they are also lovely, lovely people who although proud of who they are and what they have achieved through this programme. They are also very humble, just like our capital city and on a side note, are very easy to work with - although they aren't 6ft tall like the models at fashion week,  they certainly pulled the outfits off.

The ILSIEN IN-NISA ladies definitely have enough character, talent & style to give the heart the collection merits.

Now what we want to know is

- WHO is the MAN?
