Urban Travel : Beanies and Festivities AHOY

It's beanie weather and I couldn't be happier - it's also festive season soon which means time to start sourcing those statement pieces. This high-waisted, black skirt from MEXX couldn't be more perfect.

The fit is amazing, the pattern eye catching and he colour..- well black is a 'non-colour' so it can match with sooo many different colours. I decided to mix it up a little and show how versatile it is - I paired it with a floral sheer top, a beanie, and this brilliant anorak / coat. This is a great outfit for when you want to be dressed up not too dressed up.

To make it a bit 'dressier' you could switch to a coat or cape, remove the beanie and add a pair of delicate heels.

Outfit Post : Standing on the edge of a cliff

It's no secret that I love summer, sea warm weather, boats and the long summer nights. What I don't like is the lack of beanies, knitted turbans residing on my head or the fact that it's too hot to layer and the other problem that my feet are not residing in nice leather boots. These I consider to be rather big problems and the fact that it is now no longer summer and these problems can be remedied is enough to make me forget the rain and approaching cold weather.

So much so that I can stand at the edge of the cliff, wave my hands around and attempt to balance around on one leg whilst the hubby photographer starts to get concerned. I actually felt a bit indignant there - I mean that's a serious doubt of my balancing skills and my boots' sturdiness features.

Trends Post : A Cardigan & a Dress at MAX&Co

Whilst many are embracing the fact that the weather's changed and the hot summer days seem to be behind us ..I'm lamenting the fact that I've started to feel rather chilly. This means light jackets, shawls and of course little cardis and sweaters.
One of the looks I like most is the idea of wearing a dress and a cardigan like in this picture below.

I've said this before - whilst I appreciate androgynous fashion & I love edgy styling...sometimes, I wonder what happened to the princesses we dreamed about as little girls, where have they disappeared to in all that is fashion? One of the things I like about MAX&Co. as a brand, is that they have different trends and these trends tend to cater for a variety of styles - guess what one of them is called - Girl's Dream and yep it's filled with dresses, sparkly belts and sparkly shoes and lots of pretty, pretty items. There's a protagonist in the dream ofc and it's called Corolla (the dress in the pic below)

On a side note, one of the focuses of this theme is to be able to transition easily from day to night and a cardi or little jacket worn over a dress is a great way to do that. I also like to change handbag - sometimes what I do is carry around a large handbag during the day with a little mini one inside the large one, after my work-day is over - I simply switch. I also like to update  my lipstick, maybe go for a bolder colour at night.

What do you think, do you like the idea of cardigans and dresses ?

Shopping Post : Men and Blazers

I love a man in a nice suit, after all, give me a perfectly tailored blue suit and a crisp white shirt ad it onto a dashing man aka James Bond (Sean Connery) and I'm good to go. A lot of men however, don't feel quite the same way about suits...a few too many of them detest wearing suits..With more and more companies abandoning the idea of formal dress codes for work and accepting casual wear, men have now grown accustomed to being comfortable and now view suits as though they are little, evil, green-headed monsters...created with the sole purpose of making men suffer.

Enter the BLAZER, the humble blazer owes its origins to the pedigree of the United Kingdom. To be precise to the Lady Margaret Boat Club (the rowing club of St. John's College, Cambridge), the men wore red blazers in the 1800s. The great thing about a blazer, whilst still ultimately being a fitted jacket is that it can be worn over a t-shirt, over jeans, over a crisp white shirt...basically does not call for the whole formal ensemble but it still can be worn that way if wanted.

One of the best places to buy a nice male blazer from is Tommy Hilfiger, they have lovely tweed and velvet options which along with plaid, are my current fave blazer types.

Some picks rom Tommy Hilfiger Malta below : Although these pics show them styled with ties and shirts, this is not the only way to wear them, they'd look really great over a sweater/v-neck/t-shirt/open shirt!

And because little boys should look as good as their dads....

In Malta, Tommy Hilfiger Stores can be found in Baystreet Shopping Complex Paceville and in Valletta.Hilfiger Denim Stores can be found at The Point and in also Valletta (in Valletta same store as Tommy Hilfiger - basement level).
