Outfit & Event : My Wedding

You could say I'm a bit late in writing this post - 4 years too late to be exact.

4 years ago on this very day 4th December 2010 I married the _> corny alert _> love of my life. The person I refer to on this blog as - the hubby and the person who puts up with all my moaning and takes all my photos.

It actually seems kind of strange that I've never written about this day, I talk about so many events and outfits and then I've never dedicated a post to what I wore as a bride and to what went on on one of the best days of my life.

So..... the DRESS

I've always wanted a princess-style dress. Ever since I was very little, the romantic idea of big puffy dresses and long veils appealed to me, I day dreamed about my wedding dress and the minute I tried it on I knew it was for me. I also wore a custom made headpiece of ganutel that was beautiful and really, really heavy. I left my hair somewhat curly looking according to the hubby-to-be's request.

The wedding was a church wedding at Ta Giesu in Valletta and the subsequent reception was at Hilton Hotel (hats off to Chef Joe Vella for the incredibleeeee food),  I had a whale of a time dancing and chatting to everyone but for me, the best part was the 'first dance' to one of my fave songs ever - A Whole New World of Disney's Aladdin.

My wedding day was one of the most magical days of my life and I continued to dream about it for many nights after. This blog didn't exist back then but I think it only fitting that such an important day in my life is somehow linked to what has now become such an important thing in my life.

Outfit Post : Gold and Colour Blocks at a Wedding

A few weeks ago two good friends of mine tied the knot and celebrated with a lovely and original reception at Popeye's Village. I decided to wear a new dress by JOVONNA that I find very original, it's a mixture of pattern overlay and pleats with leather side buckles. Photos by Kurt Paris

Do you recall the ALDO X OSTWALD HELGASON shoes I told you I bought in this post - here they are :D

It was a hot day so I decided my hair should go up - as usual no one beats Svetlana at Toni and Guy Hilton Malta. And a big thanks to my mummy for his beautiful necklace she just gifted me.

My Styling Work : Venere Avant-Garde Bridal

This week's edition of lifestyle and fashion, Maltese TV programme Venere featured my styling work!  I collaborated with Marquita Kemper, the fantastic and brilliant owner of bridal store Wedding Bells in Valletta, Malta. The photographer, an Italian photographer based in Malta, Federico Peltretti came up with the brilliant idea of creating a shot inspired by French Haute Couture and John Galliano, specifically John Galliano and the beautiful, extravagant collections he has produced over the years.

Photography: Federico Peltretti,
Hair: Chris Galea, Guy Galea
Makeup: Elaine Galea Venere using Inglot,

Styling: Caroline Paris
Bridal Stylist & Clothes : Marquita Kemper Wedding Bells
Co-ordination: Adrian J Mizzi,
Shoot for Venere produced by Motion blur and Unique Promotions

The models were Rebecca Montaldo below :

Jennifer Belli (below), who got a tad emotional throughout this shoot as she is actually getting married this year

and Katryona Calleja

Chris and Guy from Michael and Guy created two fabulous wigs for Katryona and Jennifer that perfectly matched the theme and Elaine applied some beautiful avant garde make up looks. Rebecca's hair was crimped and twisted so as to create volume and then it was fashioned into a really cool messy/big  style.

All the clothes and accessories are by Faragé, the French bridal house, (available From Wedding Bells) and the shoes are from Aldo

A big well done to the whole team, I'm very happy with the result:)
