EVENTS POST : MFWA - TIFFANY PISANI MALTA FASHION WEEK 2014 - DAY 4

Pjazza San Gorg has always been associated with Malta Fashion Week, the photography exhibition has for the last few years been hosted on huge billboards across the square. Today however it played host to its first ever fashion show. The models walked out from behind the billboards, onto the catwalk modelling Tiffany Pisani's swimwear collection and jewellery by Marpesia and Co. (by Martina Gullaumier).

My role was styling backstage, helping the models out of one outfit into another but mainly choosing and styling the jewellery for each look. The lovely make up was done by Elaine Galea whilst Chris Mifsud was the night's hairdresser and of course Aldo shoes were worn. Models from supernovamodel.com - nauseatingly, amazing figures.

Tiffany's swimwear line (sold at Label C in Sliema) has some interesting cuts and I especially liked the gold hardware details on some of the designs, the collection encompasses a variety of different colours and patterns - there were one-piece swimsuits, padded bikini tops and of course the all-time favourite - the skimpier triangle bikinis

My favourite piece was this bikini in the pic below, I really liked the shimmering pattern on the top.

The beautiful jewellery really added an element of elegance to the look, from delicate brass necklaces, to large, bold earrings and necklaces, there was a lot to feast your eyes on. It is hard to believe that each of these pieces are made entirely by hand by Martina. Apparently she produced this entirely handmade collection especially for Malta Fashion Week.

She also set up a delightful stand in the pjazza showcasing all her beautiful jewellery ranges and headpieces.

However, the best model on the catwalk was the new Mercedez GClass that also got it's spotlight moment when it was reversed on the catwalk. The show was followed by a lovely reception and some yummy cocktails.

Another great evening full of fashion in magical Valletta. Thumbs up to everyone :)

Shopping Post : It's CATWALK time with ARMANI JEANS

For this week's edition of Caroline hits a store and shows you what's in stock I'm doing something different...first off over the next couple of weeks I'm too too busy to actually go to stores and take photos #fashionshowmonth ..and I decided that as part of my ongoing collaboration with Armani Jeans Malta - I'm going to post my favourite looks from the fashion show held at the Point last Thursday evening. It was a lovely event btw but although I would have loved to sit in the audience and sip the proscecco that was given out,  I was working, as a stylist, assisting Marisa Grima backstage. Hair by Dean Gera, Make Up Store and Models from supernovamodels.com. All photos by Kurt Paris.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this pretty 2-piece suit and t-shirt combo

This swimsuit is chic-fabulous and just makes me think of beaching in Nice or the French Riviera, sipping cocktails or champagne on some huge yacht...*sigh*.. I think it should be combined with a big floppy hat too and maybe some diamond studs...is the hubby reading ?
I've actually used this jumpsuit once for a fashion shoot I styled for Style Magazine..it's one of my fave pieces in the whole shop currently, the vivid pattern is really right up my alley

A really lovely summer suit

Sometimes denim and white is all that's needed

More men should pick up on this jacket and shorts styling - it's so cool, especially on tall men

Watch this space for the Hilfiger Denim edition.

Armani Jeans Stores can also at Baystreet (obviously at the Point too but this is a post about the Point fashion show). I also will put forward this modern method idea of keeping in touch with them  through social media and stuff and therefore press LIKE here

Shopping Post : Swimwear Time ! Nautical Inspiration

For this week's edition of Caroline hits a shop and shows you what's in stock - we're focusing on nautical-inspired swimwear and I've chosen the literally-just-arrived range at Tommy Hilfiger Baystreet.

Throughout the colder months I'm not really one to go for anything navy and I tend to stay away from looks that are vaguely nautical...when summer arrives though I notice that without actually thinking about it, I start to gravitate towards these colours...however I've also noticed that the pieces I focus more attention on are generally less preppy and maybe with something cute or 'different' in the design.

In this swimwear range ..there's both..there's perfectly preppy nautical that is Tommy Hilfiger all over but then there are some cuter styles (look right down for the red checked bikini ...awwww)

and some with gold hardware additions that are ultra stylish like this first pic below.

Bikini Shopping Advice Now I'm one of those people that hates trying on clothes and often 'just buy' stuff but when buying swimwear I do really advocate that you ensure it fits perfectly.....the pants should NOT dig into the waist and create love handles, the bra cups should NOT be half empty and the back strap should remain in a horizontal line. For apples I recommend swimsuits as a much more flattering option...if you've got broad shoulders avoid halter necks. For pears bikinis with a bit of top padding and strapless or halter styles are your best bet, for pears avoid buying pants that cover too much of your bum, ironically that will make it look larger.

All the diff styles together...
And to carry alll those important things...you know beach towel..book...sweets that don't melt....

For those who really truly truly don't know, there are Tommy Hilfiger Stores in Baystreet and Valletta and they have a facebook page right here .
