Outfit Post : At Alta Roma Day 1

This weekend was mostly spent indoors - the hubby has a nasty case of food poisoning and all my countless weekend plans went straight into the 'rubbish bin'. However, last weekend was a brilliant one - I spent it in Rome for AltaRoma, watching beautiful haute-couture, AltaModa fashion, eating too much food, shopping (any doubt ?) and meeting with the other members of the Chamber of Fashion Malta to discuss upcoming projects.

Here's what I wore on Day 1 - first of all it was freezing - freezing and fashion don't go well together, and then to make matters worse, inside the show locations was of course, heated and hot and stuffy. It's also impossible not to need to walk, even if you use taxis, you need to walk to the taxi stand and Rome is full of cobbles, some broken....I think if I lived in Rome I'd retire all my heels...

Below and Above - at the show in the Alta Roma official show tent.

Back onto the streets.................I'm in love with this Enrico Coveri coat - a very recent birthday present from the parents - in Rome I realised it's also very, very warm since it's made of 100% wool.

Thank the heavens for sneakers / trainers and their current return into the fashion world.

Because it was so cold I ended up wearing two pairs of thermal tights and socks on top of each other - my walk felt a tad bit restricted..

Outfit Post : Jumping in SNEAKERS

As a teenager, the one thing you look forward to most is growing up, growing up represents freedom, independence and the chance to do what you want. In your 20s what with finding a job ... and thinking about maybe saving up ... and buying a car and all the rest that comes along .... you start to wonder if growing up is all it's cracked up to be.

In your 30s the one thing that I feel really changes is that you basically stop caring and worrying as much about everything. A sense of freedom and nonchalance greets you, a sense of knowing who you are and what you want.

I think this is really reflected in what you choose to wear, and notice I said choose because my guess is that by the time you hit your 30s - you're no longer basing your wardrobe choices on what others say/think but on what YOU want to wear and that is when you really obtain 'fashion freedom'.

For me, personally, nothing is more freeing than wearing sneakers - than being able to bounce, run and jump around without the restriction of heels or other uncomfortable shoes - that sense of being a child once again.

These sneakers are by Laura Biagiotti and found at Stivalletti who are officially collaborating with my feet :)
