Outfit Post : Milan Fashion Week Day 4

4th Day in Milan, 9th Day of Fashion Weeks = very, very tired feet. It was time to bring out the trainers again. This day involved many, many presentations and quite a few shows too so I wanted a rather comfortable outfit. I also planned on changing into something a bit more glamorous for the evening since it was a Saturday and it had dawned on me that people here tended to get changed for the night shows - not something done in London - so this was actually outfit 4.5. The photo above and below are right after Ermanno Scervino and with an Italian blogger I made friends with, Ornelia that runs The Fashion Dance.

Urban Travel : Beige Coats & BUBBLES

If you're a regular reader of this blog you may have got a slight inkling that I'm a  child at heart. I do believe that inkling may be correct because when I was in a sweet shop (Camilleri in Valletta and I almost bought EVERYTHING) and saw this bubble making device, I couldn't resist. Plus I think the colours of the bubbles blend in perfectly with my beige coat and patterned scarf from MEXX...

This styling idea of wearing a coat over a shorter dress or skirt is a great idea for petite women. The style works especially well with coats like this that have a belt or tie-around of some sort. If you're on the shorter side like me, that little bit of flesh showing (in my case my knees) can help to make you look slightly taller. A lot of people tend to shy away from earth and light colours during Winter but I think they look even more beautiful especially if your skin tone is on the darker side.

Outfit Post : Playing in the Waves in Riccione

caroline paris stylist

With all the London Fashion Week related posts Riccione seems like a million years away but right before going off to London I travelled to Riccione with Ferragiu to work backstage at the New Model Today competition, you can read more about that here. The morning of the event, the hubby and I decided to go for a walk on the beach, the weather was warm but a little breezy at certain times of day so I carried around a big scarf for when I felt chilly. I got tempted to dip my feet in the seas but ran away at the impending heart attack - cooooold.

Events Post : Selfies at Mvintage Bday Party

Yesterday Mvintage celebrated their birthday and invited some people over to their 'shop' for drinks. It was a lot of fun and we enjoyed chatting, trying on jewellery and buying some too over a glass of wine.

I decided to wear an in-theme outfit with vintage chic being the logo on my crop top. I also wore these beautiful shoes fr the first time...hos like these should be worn with some form of sock the first time.. I know this but yet I was stupid enough not to...I left The Point barefoot, 'nough said.

Outfit Details

Shopping Post : What your Valentine Really Wants

The other day, I was speaking to some of my girlfriends and we got talking about the approaching Valentine's Day; interestingly enough it seems like the rate of women receiving unwanted gifts that they don't have the heart to exchange is alarmingly high. Others also lamented the fact that they never get anything more original than a box of chocolates and/or flowers. Sooo, apparently the men folk need some direction for Valentine...maybe a little nudge to think outside the box and go for something which will be a bit more appreciated.

I decided I need to give the menfolk a helping hand and here it is; for this post, I collaborated with Armani Jeans and Tommy Hilfiger both at Baystreet and chose my top 5 Valentine's Day Gifts from each of these stores. Both these stores are open till 10 p.m. and also on Sunday, so they're super great for those really busy men; otherwise read as NO EXCUSES!

So as you can see from the pic above I've chosen  5 different items:

  •  A classic trench coat, every woman needs a beautiful, classically cut, trench coat; ideally in a nude shade so it can be worn with anything and everything.
  • A colourful everyday bag for Spring; this PVC, fun bag is easily cleaned, not delicate and can work really well as an everyday bag.
  • A scarf, women can never have enough scarves so this is an easy one, pick a bright colour for Spring.
  • A patterned, elegant blouse, since Spring and Maltese hot weather is just around the corner, it's time to think about loose fitting, slink bright tops; we'll soon be putting away the blacks.
  • For those men whose Valentine truly loves fashion this orange blazer is a true  statement piece - guaranteed to garner lots of hugs and kisses.

Again, as before I've chosen  5 different items:

  •  A lovely tote bag in a muted, bright coral
  • Lime jeans are set to be one of the hottest things this new season...it is essential hat they fit well , so a well tailored pair is necessary.
  • As I mentioned before, you can't go wrong with a scarf; this one is particularly lovely.
  • A super-cute, floral, shift dress that melted my heart, for all those ladies that love sweet, pretty things.
  • For those ladies that love sweet, pretty things but hate dresses, there are also trousers in the same pattern! Slinky, comfy, loose fitting, trousers!

Good Luck Men!

P.S. In Malta, Tommy Hilfiger Stores can be found in Baystreet Shopping Complex Paceville and also in Valletta. Armani Jeans Stores can be found at The Point and also at Baystreet.

Random Post : Turning 30 and a Wishlist

The day is soon here, the day I no longer form part of either the teen or twenteeen club but join the ranks of 'the more mature' thirty club; I will now start ticking the other box. Truth be told, I'm not scared of getting older, I'm happy with my life and feel like I'm making the most of every part of it..but somehow 30 still feels like a bit of a big deal.

Normally, over the years, I have always kept stating I am x years old until the actual day of my birthday at which time it turns to x+1 but this time for some reason, for the past few months, when asked my age, the number 30 has been exiting my mouth....maybe I've been subconsciously preparing myself for what I feel is a bit of a life milestone.

I used to think that my image would change when I reached 30, that I'd definitely be wearing different clothes, wearing my hair differently (that part is currently true but it's only temp) and whilst of course my style has evolved over the years..I'm not sure 'tuning 30' is having anything to do with it...however I will say that as I grow older I am understanding my body more and more and leaning to buy more 'investment pieces', favouring quality over quantity and not wasting money over fads.

With this in mind no birthday of mine could ever be complete without a dream wishlist..here are my top ten wishes ...I might buy myself one of these babies..after all I have to give myself a gift right?

30th birthday wishlist
Left to Right: Hermes Scarf/ Chanel necklace/ Chanel Classic Flap Bag/Miu Miu coat/ Louboutin Pumps/ Michael Kors Watch in rose gold/ Coccinelle Pink bag with gold chain/ Coccinelle Wallet/ Kenzo Eye Sweater
