New Look Campaign - 3 Trends in 1

Some time ago I posted a behind-the-scenes post of the New Look Blogger Campaign I took part in - the shoot is finally out - wohooo. The idea was to showcase the different trend sections in the New Look range.

First up is the MOD GIRL - mod girl is the modern girl with 60s inspired short shift dresser, higher but clean necklines and lots of grid patterns. I chose this classic grid dress and layered over it a beautiful pink coat and scarf. I chose trainers to complete this comfy outfit.

BOHO LUXE is the next trend. I chose to wear long layers over a boxy top and torn skinny jeans. The fur touch, smartens up the outfit and makes it easy to transition from day-to-night, maybe by simply removing the pink cardigan.

WILD WEST is next up and a fringed kimono makes an appearance. These must be the comfiest trousers / pants I have ever worn and absolutely in love with these boots.

In exciting news I was asked to feature in a New Look Malta Blogger Campaign along with Pavli and Bianca. We each had to choose 3 different looks from the different trends in the shop (Mod girl, Utility Chic & Bohemian Luxe, Wild West) and then we were shot by the great Federico Peltretti.

Check out these behind-the-scenes photos - actual shoot result coming soon.

Shopping&Outfit Post : Shopping for a CAR - the Citroen DS3

So if you read my previous post you should know that my current shopping list is currently made up of tyres, wheels and panoramic roofs - basically I'm shopping for a new car. My 9-year old Toyota Aygo has simply gown old and needs replacing therefore...CAR SHOPPING time...I'm currently still compiling a list of my favourites but I did progress to a test drive of the mini cooper, which was awesome .
To recap what was mentioned in the previous post my job as a fashion stylist means I need to carry lots of stuff around = big boot is ideal. Being a stylist means I run around from place to place  and need to find parking in different places = a small car that fits everywhere is ideal. Basically there's no car on earth that fits this criteria and to make matters worse I'm obsessed with the aesthetics of the car - the colour...preferably two or three colours, panoramic roofs, coloured interiors, bubble or quirky shapes - you get the gist.

So time to continue chronicling this shopping journey...finding the right car for a fashion stylist and the second car I'm going to talk about is the Citroen DS3.

The Pros : nice big boot, lovely colours,  two-tone colour option, sporty and sleek - really like the exterior of this car, it has a sporty vibe but in a quirky kind of way that still feels feminine in the right colour, it is really stylish and the boot fits lots of stuff, there are also super cool d-dimensional brake lights.

The Cons : interior isn't the nicest I've seen - it felt a bit bare, there are also no tech features like video playing or app linking and there's no panoramic roof option.

Verdict - I really, really like this car and it seems to be one of the only cars on the market that combines the concept of a city car with a big boot and gives personalisation options.

Shopping, Outfit & Events Post : Shopping for a CAR - the new MINI COOPER launch party

So the news of the month is that I have decided that my car, a red Toyota Aygo has simply gown old and needs replacing which means....NEW CAR SHOPPING...the last time I did this was 9 years ago and I had forgotten how much fun it is. At the moment, what I'm doing is compiling a list of my favourites, getting prices and visiting showrooms....eventually I'll progress to test drives.

What do I Want vs What do I Need ?
My job as a fashion stylist often means I need to carry lots of stuff around to shoot with, which means a nice comfortable boot is somewhat handy, then again, my job as a stylist means I need to run around from place to place so a small car that fits in parking places easily and darts around our little roads and corners is also really handy. What all this means that
I'm the crazy girl walking into showrooms asking for quotes for SUVs and superminis.
The other factor is well the shape...as you might imagine the car's aesthetics are of slight importance to me, I like quirky cars ..as is the colour ...preferably two colours or even three (much to the hubby's dismay)...so whilst he's asking about engine specs ..I'm asking about colour and personalisation options.

So anywayyyyyy the point of all this is that I've decided to chronicle this shopping journey...lets call it ...finding the right car for a fashion stylist.

The first car I'm going to talk about is the new MINI COOPER - coincidentally it was launched last Saturday evening with an awesome launch party at Muscat Motors to celebrate the occasion. - beer bar, wine bar, vodka bar(Chase), fish and chips, MINIs to examine (both new and vintage ones) ...lots and lots of fun!!

Gianni is the brand ambassador and has been given his very own 'KISS' mini countryman to drive :)

Time to actually talk about the new MINI ...in a word WOW...I've always loved the mini and whilst the difference between this version and the previous is not huge...there are little touches that make it even nicer, a re-designed front that is a bit larger and sleeker, more chrome touches, a more techy interior, slightly larger boot (hurray!), greener engine, extremely comfy seats and above all it is still a MINI - LOVE THIS CAR...cons : whilst the boot has grown, it is still nothing you'd consider large & like always, this car doesn't come cheap...

My Outfit
This was actually my outfit for the entire day not just night - since that day went as follows - Simshar crew screening, Coccinelle magic keys event, Faith shoes launch at Debenhams....Mini party..

I got to take two things on their first outing - a darling pink, plaid skirt from New Look that I bought a few weeks ago at a press event & my new pink Coccinelle satchel.....I think this bag might have made it to the top of my list as far as my favourite bags go...it is extremely practical, comfortable (I spent a day wearing it) and it's pink with touches of gold.. I mean ..what more could I possibly want...

Bag : Coccinelle (SS14) / Skirt : New Look (SS14) / Top : Promod (old) / Jacket : Moda International / Shoes : Dr Martens / Necklace : Gift from Madrid / Leggings : Proskins Slim

This bag is beyond gorgeous...am so over the moon with it :)

So let me know what you think...what vote do you give the new MINI?

Events Post : Press go Shopping at a new New Look

About a week or so ago, the New Look store at the point unveiled a revamped store that is absolutely stunning and to mark the occasion they invited some stylists and press people over for a 50% shopping spree and a lovely lunch at Fratelli di Bufala.

Like most girls I first started shopping at New Look at quite a young age, I was about 14 when I discovered it in London. As the years passed although their collections target a variety of ages I wasn't always too enamoured with the collections they churned out, there were seasons when there'd actually be nothing I wanted in store. However over the last few seasons, I noticed a change in their designs and practically each time I went in, I unfortunately generally ended up buying something. This season, the new collection is really really great, and the biggest improvement is actually probably in the men's department...it's very snazzy., the women's jeans come in at a close second with probably one of the largest selection of jeans around.

Check out some store photos (all the trends are there: denim cutoffs, slogan tshirts, chunky jewellery, floral patterns, block stripes, multicolour shoes, black lace):

I really enjoyed the event, I bought some wonderful stuff both for me and the hubby, ate a really delicious 3 course lunch (with a yummy choc desert at the end of it) and enjoyed some lovely, interesting company which was incidentally not just fashion talk.
