Shopping : V73 Bags

Some time ago, I wore a new bag by an Italian brand V73. Quite a few of you messaged me asking me for more info about this brand, so I've dedicated a whole shopping post to the brand and this season's styles.

Elisabetta Armellin is the person behind this brand. She was born in Treviso and studied in Venice The name V73 stands for "V" as Venice, "73" as her date of birth. Venice has always been one of her main sources of inspiration. The first V73 boutique was opened in Venice and the second one has recently been launched in Miami. This brand is stocked at Rebelli in Malta.

The first thing that caught my eye when I first learnt about these bags, is the bright colours. There are some truly gorgeous vivid, colourful options. The second thing was the details - the gold hardware is top notch quality and I'm in love with the bamboo handles on some of them. Since this is me writing, the leather piping and full leather styles (like the top pic) were another plus.

Brand Spotlight : Paula Cademartori at Milan Fashion Week

In Milan I saw too many beautiful things and as a result got too many cravings (of both the food and fashion variety). One of my favourite things on Day 3 was the Paula Cademartori bag & shoes preview. besides their ultra original, quirky designs, the quality of the product supersedes most other bags I've seen, and I've seen A LOT of expensive bags.

These bags are Made in Italy and exquisitely made from start to finish, with every single detail having been taken care of. When I say detail I mean detail - it's impressive to witness when looking at these bags up close.

"The precious seal of each model is a metal buckle, personally designed by Paula supported by her background in jewellery and industrial design."

And check out Beyonce below !!!

For the first time this coming Winter Paola will be launching a footwear line - it features the same exciting designs, and same attention to detail as her bags do.

Check out that sexy back

And look who dropped by to meet the designer - it's BryanBoy

I haven't really been managing to write up all my outfit posts, street style spotting and fashion show reviews in real time. I've simply had too many places to go and well at least 5 hours sleep is sort of necessary... but all will be told in the coming weeks - not to worry. In the meantime, for today, here's the first outfit I wore on my first day in Milan, decided to take a bit of Malta Fashion with me :)

Milan Fashion Week : BVLGARI A/W 15/16 ACCESSORIES

Yesterday I was very fortunate to be invited by BVLGARI to view their new Autumn Winter Collection. The presentation was at the BVLGARI Hotel in Milan, a gorgeous building.

As is to be expected, BVLGARI's accessories are perfectly made, no detail has been missed and their designs are well researched evoking BVLGARI's past collections and traditions.

Among others, one of the new styles is this lovely Serpentini Bauletto Bag, the bag is being produced in amethyst violet, ocean turquoise and a lovely shade of pink rubellite as well as different exotic skins. Colours that mirror jewels is something the brand is renowned for. The beautiful handle is inspired by the snake bracelet watch produced in the 60s.

A good talking point here, is that the little details inside the bag are given as much importance as the the details outside. I'm often disappointed with interiors even with expensive bags, sometimes the inside of the bag is not real leather or hasn't been finished to a degree of quality that matches the exterior. At BVLGARI, the inside is lined with beautiful suede of a contrasting colour, whilst the piping inside matches the leather of the exterior - stunning!

Above is the Serpentine Forever Flap Bag in tiger's eye calf leather featuring 3D inlaid scales in gold layers skin.

Below is the new BVLGARI-BVLGARI signature bag - an interesting combination of calf leather and black plexi glass giving the bag a very modern, original look - love the magnetic closure featuring the signature BVLGARI ring.

And for one of my personal faves in terms of leather finish - this hologram effect takes hours to produce since it involves tanning and re tanning the leather to ensure even dispersion of the colour desired.

What I found very interesting, is the excellent new range of BVLGARI sunglasses. In previous years I haven't always been too enamoured with their sunglasses range finding them a bit too fussy and possibly a bit tailored to the older generation. These new styles are modern and stylish with a lovely look whilst of course still retaining the excellent quality and those little details such as pink gold and diamonds serpentini scales on the side.

This cat-eye shape sits really well on most face shapes.

Shopping : A Spot of Male Styling

Last Friday, I made my way to KIABI to style two men in the new, 'just arrived' collection. This collection is a really interesting one and I actually had trouble selecting only two outfits. This leather jacket in the pictures above and below caught my eye the minute I walked in. The quality is great, the smell of leather intoxicating and the style brilliant ..plus it's under 50 euros..what more do you want ? Next, my eyes gravitated towards this Star Wars t-shirt ..so much fun potential, there needs to be a female version  ! A pair of grey black jeans completed the look.

More pics in the slideshow below....

Next up I chose a casual blue-denim-grey look - loving this blue grey sweater in the picture below and these chinos have a really great fit. The denim jackets are also worth a mention, again really like their quality.

Outfit Post : Different Shades of BLACK

Once you've gotten over the fact that my hair is straight, here's what I wore to the F&F launch party this week. It's funny how familiarity works, I've had my hair this straight quite a few times over the last year but it seems that after a summer of curls, everyone forgothttp://www.carolinefashionstyling.com/2014/12/outfit-post-different-shades-of-black.html. Basically, last Winter I got the Keratin Brazilian treatment applied and decided to go for it again this year - I find 'straighter' hair much easier to manage in the Winter months. To all those curl lovers (my hubby being one of them, ...they'll be back..and change is fun :) ).

Wearing all-black is not that 'normal' for me, in general, I'm quite a colourful person and tend to gravitate towards patterns, colours and all things bright. I enjoyed wearing this look though and I think I might just try total black again sometime soon.

Now these boots (Nero Giardini at Stivaletti) are a recent acquisition and I'm completely head-over-heels in love with them..the comfort is unparalleled, the quality of the leather is superb and I think the design is stunning - only problem - I decided to wear them on the one day in the year when it wouldn't stop raining...so my poor boots got wet on their first outing, I'm sure they cried big, plonky tears when I wasn't looking.

Outfit Post : Jumping in SNEAKERS

As a teenager, the one thing you look forward to most is growing up, growing up represents freedom, independence and the chance to do what you want. In your 20s what with finding a job ... and thinking about maybe saving up ... and buying a car and all the rest that comes along .... you start to wonder if growing up is all it's cracked up to be.

In your 30s the one thing that I feel really changes is that you basically stop caring and worrying as much about everything. A sense of freedom and nonchalance greets you, a sense of knowing who you are and what you want.

I think this is really reflected in what you choose to wear, and notice I said choose because my guess is that by the time you hit your 30s - you're no longer basing your wardrobe choices on what others say/think but on what YOU want to wear and that is when you really obtain 'fashion freedom'.

For me, personally, nothing is more freeing than wearing sneakers - than being able to bounce, run and jump around without the restriction of heels or other uncomfortable shoes - that sense of being a child once again.

These sneakers are by Laura Biagiotti and found at Stivalletti who are officially collaborating with my feet :)

Shopping : Let's stroke some leather at Coccinelle

I've decided to post not one but two shopping posts this week and the second one is at Coccinelle who just last week hosted a super event whereby shoppers were sent a piece of material which they then had to pair with a bag and possibly win said bag. I'm really loving their current collection, the colours are so vibrant and beautiful, the leather so soft and supple.

Then there's the smell, somehow the smell of leather of my Coccinelle bags seems more powerful than that of other leather bags.. I actually sometimes place my bag near me at my desk,  just so I can smell it whilst I work - yes I'm aware this might be considered freaky behaviour, who cares, as long as my nostrils are happy....

Click through the slideshow below for some leather feasting

Coccinelle is located in Sliema Tower Road right next to Solaris . More Coccinelle - related posts here

Outfit Post : Standing on the edge of a cliff

It's no secret that I love summer, sea warm weather, boats and the long summer nights. What I don't like is the lack of beanies, knitted turbans residing on my head or the fact that it's too hot to layer and the other problem that my feet are not residing in nice leather boots. These I consider to be rather big problems and the fact that it is now no longer summer and these problems can be remedied is enough to make me forget the rain and approaching cold weather.

So much so that I can stand at the edge of the cliff, wave my hands around and attempt to balance around on one leg whilst the hubby photographer starts to get concerned. I actually felt a bit indignant there - I mean that's a serious doubt of my balancing skills and my boots' sturdiness features.
