Brand Spotlight : Paula Cademartori at Milan Fashion Week

In Milan I saw too many beautiful things and as a result got too many cravings (of both the food and fashion variety). One of my favourite things on Day 3 was the Paula Cademartori bag & shoes preview. besides their ultra original, quirky designs, the quality of the product supersedes most other bags I've seen, and I've seen A LOT of expensive bags.

These bags are Made in Italy and exquisitely made from start to finish, with every single detail having been taken care of. When I say detail I mean detail - it's impressive to witness when looking at these bags up close.

"The precious seal of each model is a metal buckle, personally designed by Paula supported by her background in jewellery and industrial design."

And check out Beyonce below !!!

For the first time this coming Winter Paola will be launching a footwear line - it features the same exciting designs, and same attention to detail as her bags do.

Check out that sexy back

And look who dropped by to meet the designer - it's BryanBoy

London Fashion Week : Street Style - Handbags

One of the first things I notice in an outfit is the handbag or handbag(s) as the case may be. There's something about a beautiful bag that can simply complete an outfit and make it stand apart. There's quite a variety of different styles of bags at London Fashion Week. I wasn't at New York but from the pics I saw, it was all about quirky-as-hell, original bags. Funnily enough even though London is the city with the most eclectic fashion it seems to transcend more in clothes rather than bags.

Here's a few street style snaps taken by Kurt Paris with bags worth of a photo or two..

MFWA : Fransina - New Designer - Mercedes Benz Malta Fashion Week 2014

On Saturday the 24th May, the New Designers Fashion Show will take place as part of Malta Fashion Week 2014. This is the show in which emerging local designers have the chance to show the country their designs and basically get noticed, it is also a form of competition as one designer will win the best new designer award at the Malta Fashion Awards one week alter. In anticipation of this event, (one of my favourite in the whole week), I will be shining the spotlight on each of these 'new designers'.

Today we shine the spotlight on Fransina - a brand creating beautiful, handmade bags.

When I sat down to interview the brains behind this project (her name is actually Fransina), I was immediately greeted by a wonderful smile; this lovely young woman is very friendly and very easy to talk to, with a warm and open approach. She talked to me about her love of handbags, her love of eclectic designs and how each bag she creates is different from the previous one.
The name of the brand is Fransina and it was launched in September 2012. This is the first time she is exhibiting in Malta Fashion Week. At the young age of 16, she started studying fashion design at Manzoni Fashion House in Malta. This was her starting point and entry into the world of design and fashion. Her primary focus up until now has been selling at different local artisan markets such as Patches and Malta Artisan Market but she plans to open a shop in the near future. Her target audience is 'vintage lovers of all ages'

She describes the collection, (which is to made up of 6 bags of different styles and fabrics), she is exhibiting at Malta Fashion Week as inspired by the eclectic designs of Alexander McQueen but incorporating a retro, 50s style.

A peek at her collection

Shopping Post : Ecco at King Shoe Shop

This week's instalment of Caroline visits a shop and shows you what's in stock is King Shoe Shop in San Gwann, which some people refer to as Ecco. Ecco as a brand has always been synonymous with comfort and quality, few people have worn their shoes without exclaiming over the extreme comfort, even after extended periods of wear. I own a few pairs of Ecco shoes myself and I have to concur and say that the comfort is phenomenal...the shock absorption, arch support and supple leather make walking a lovely affair.

I'm not so sure however, that they are generally as renowned for fashion and style, whilst their styles are always pleasant, they are really quite 'safe' and not ground breaking. This year however they seem to have pushed up the style factor a few notches and come out with some cool stuff and some lovely bright colours. I love espadrilles, I've often mentioned this, so if you follow me you probably already know..and one of my favourite things about them is that they can be worn with the back folded....now Ecco have come out with this leather espadrille-like foldable flat shoe that is adorable!

I really want the yellow ones..can just see them worn with a cute pair of little denim shorts and a loose white top and of course sunny sunny weather...*wishlist addition*

Their trainers also really impressed me, I've said this before but I have to say it again...trainers are really popular this season and these leather ones with bright coloured laces are perfect for wearing with cropped jeans, printed leggings, and even dresses.

And then we have their handbags...being a handbag lover it surprised me to realise that I have never given much attention to the Ecco handbags, always keeping my focus on the shoes but the handbags are quite lovely indeed...and the leather is so soft and supple ..really, really beautiful leather...and they're got some lovely bright coloured ones too!

And now to pay some attention to the menfolk too, thereare some great trainers here again and some styles that are a style cross between shoes and trainers - love them!

This is a great alternative to the standard hand luggage

And now for the best part there is currently an offer on vouchercloud.com.mt whereby you can get 15% off the new collection and 20% off on handbags!

Happy Shopping!!

Events Post : Florence Braccialini Opening Party & 60th Anniversary Celebration Firenze

The morning after when all the people were gone :)
Selfie at the party
One of the highlights of my trip to Florence was attending the Opening of the new Florence Store and 60 Year Celebration Party at Braccialini just off Piazza Signoria (via vacchereccia). The store is on two levels, very clean and minimalist design with lots of lovely white light and white walls, the great thing is that the products take centre stage.

I love Braccialini bags, the combination of beautiful, high quality leather, perfect leather workmanship (impeccable stitching), and original quirky designs immediately sets my credit card on fire and my will power down to 0.

Lots of people attended the event and what with the gorgeous bags and purses lined up on the walls, the flowing alcohol concoctions and gorgeous canapés, it was a great event that I enjoyed very much:)

The cutest umbrellas!

Love this bag !

Fun music all night long!

Check out a short video I filmed whilst at the party

And another video showcasing the store:

For Maltese residents, Braccialini products are available to buy online but can also be bought in Malta from Porto at Portomaso, St Julians
