Events Post : Time for PINK & Fashion Shows

If you missed the hype - TIMES OF MALTA PINK magazine organised their third fashion show earlier this week, they also celebrated 10 year of existence - quite along time. They chose Progress Print - for those not aware, this is the newspaper's printing house - as the location which was a brilliant idea. Even more brilliant was the idea of creating a carpet made up of past issue front covers and having the models walk down said carpet - loved it!

It's not easy to organise this sort of event - a lot of planning, a lot of organisation and a lot of effort goes into it. The team at PINK and Progress Print with Fiona Galea Debono at the helm, did a great job and everything ran smoothly.
Of course for me, the most important part of the equation will always be the clothes and I think Marisa Grima who was the stylist actually managed to surpass herself here - the styling, and flow of how the clothes were showcased was simply brilliant. I also loved the hair by Mario and his screen team and the makeup by Shasha and her team was very edgy and unique and fit the occasion perfectly.

Some of my favourite looks below

Claire (supernova) in Tommy Hilfiger

Michela (supernova) in Armani Jeans

Gabriella (Supernova) in Miss Selfridge

ALDO shoes

Biljana (supernova) in M&Co

Sarah (supernova) in Karen Millen

James (supernova) in Marks&Spencer

Jacqui (supernova) in Lui Jo

Julia (ModelsM) in F&F
Manuel (supernova) in Esprit

And some more on the slideshow

OUTFIT POST : THE CURLS ARE BACK AND WHAT I WORE TO PINK

I'm not sure if you all know my hair is curly, I had the Brazilian Keratin treatment applied last December so there was 6 months straight of straight hair (pun intended). It's now summer and I love curly hair in summer plus the Keratin has somewhat worn off soooo it's back to my organic & original curls. They made their first comeback public appearance at the PINK fashion show last week and it's quite funny - when I first went from curly to straight lots of people didn't recognise me, now it's straight back to curly and the same thing happened..funny how familiar with something we can get.

For the pink event I decided it was the perfect occasion to wear my new Marc Jacobs pyjama shirt that I bought a while ago but never got round to wearing and a brand new pair of shorts by Marc Cain. My earrings are actually thrifted from an outdoor market in Gozo and of course I just had to add a Coccinelle bag.

Bag : Coccinelle
Rings : H&M

EVENTS POST : CATWALK PHOTOS - TIMES OF MALTA PINK FASHION SHOW

For those who couldn't be there ...here are a few catwalk pics taken by my hubby Kurt Paris.

A few words about the models' (all from supernovamodel.com) look - the make up, done by Shasha Fabri and her team, was a 'beautifully-understated-but-still-so-pretty' look that matched perfectly with the hair done by Mario Muscat and his team of Screen hair stylists. The hair styles were lovely, natural-looking curls but topped off with these awesome headdresses put together by Allistair and his team of florists. I loved the clothes (styled by Marisa Grima), lots of different trends on display, lots of bright colours, again lots of prettiness and what was major fun was that not only were there some looks with clashing patterns but there were also lots of matching suits, ironically these are two of the major trends this season.

The whole effect was basically fantastical fashion for adults.

EVENTS POST : SOME SPOTTED OUTFITS AND A GYPSY FAIR - TIMES OF MALTA PINK FASHION SHOW

In case you missed ALL of my related posts (shame on you if you did, what kind of follower are you?), yesterday, a fashion show happened - The Times of Malta Pink fashion show to be exact - and it was absolutely lovely, sweet (in more ways than one), cute & pretty and completely scrumptious. Guests were asked to turn up at 17:00 but the actual show started at 19:00, so what happened in between ? A little gypsy fair party of course!!!

I know I sound like an idiot gushing over cute things, but it really was too cute, with a car crammed full of sweets, adorable colourful furniture, cushions on the lawn, a band playing away, delicious nibbles and for the adults - cocktails.

During the fashion show, I worked backstage - assisting Marisa Grima (who styled the show) and of course blogging away - but during this pre-party fair I decided to employ a spot of style scouting and see who and what outfits caught my eye.

Bloggers Ellie Cutajar (those shades and the Marco Parascandolo top - awesome) and Stephanie Xerri Agius

Makeup Artist Natasha Polidano (love the necklace)

Designer Ron and Anna Galea (Wearing a FABULOUS C&R bag from the just-released collection)

Bloggers Tiziana (love love love the nike crop top) and Pavli

Giselle Camilleri wearing Max&Co of course (fabulous dress)

Roberta Caruana Stivala accessorized in Swarovski and Furla

Events Post : Times of Malta PINK Fashion Show - Preparations Begin

As I entered Villa Bologna this morning, I was quite spellbound, it's almost as though entering another magical world, like something out of a children's story book - the place is stunning and there are so many different sections and different gardens.....I just want to be a child and run around exploring.

On another note, preparations for the show are underway and the setup is looking lovely - this looks like it's going to be an afternoon and evening to remember.

I'm also excited to see the Renault Captur here - it seems there's going to be a Renault exhibit of sorts - and the Captur happens to be the next car on my list for my #carShopping series (malta fashion week interrupted the progress somewhat) - it's a beautiful car and actually managed to navigate in a really tight spot.

Check out some pics

Events & Shopping Post : TIMES OF MALTA PINK FASHION SHOW AND RIVER ISLAND IN MALTA

This week was mostly spent in recovery mode, recovering from fashion week and a small bout of sickness I suffered earlier this week, but it's time to return to the real world, the real world of fashion  - is there any other? - and the first order of the day is the PINK fashion show happening Tuesday late afternoon - there are two exciting bits of information here - first off I have been asked to be the official blogger for the event which means I will be there from the early hours of the morning live blogging and reporting away as both the clothes start to arrive and setup and model preparations start taking place. Reporting will be done both on this website and also on my facebook page right here so be sure to like and follow.

Second piece of info is that River Island is participating in the show and since it's only just opened its doors on the island this is of course the store's first fashion show in Malta. To give you a taste of things to come, I visited the store for this week's edition of Caroline hits a store and shows you what's in stock and there's some really delicious stock - here are some pics.

One of my absolute favourite pieces in the store - the style is really me and really perfect for summer

If you still haven't added a black leather jacket to your wardrobe - what are you waiting for ?

Backpacks are of course the new IT bag

Coral is the new pink ? Or another pink ?

If you've been to the store and purchased anything let me know what it was ..and if you're coming to the show - find me and say hi :) BTW The prices have not been increased from the UK prices - prices are the same as when buying online
