Outfit & Burberry Roundup Post : London Fashion Week Day 4

Day 4 got a bit complicated when the invite to Burberry arrived. I always use the show as my line when people ask me what shows I'm attending - I quip, well I didn't get in to Burberry (it's always very strictly limited). In fact, I had booked my hair appointment at the time of the show, needless to say this got moved. The thing about fashion weeks is that invites to the shows generally arrive only a few days before so planning ahead is rather difficult.

I started off the day by getting my makeup done at the Maybelline Lounge followed by a cut and style at Toni & Guy. I decided to change the style of my hair and go for something a bit softer with more layers, Spring is soon here and I prefer this sort of style for the warmer days.

Now about this photo which you've already seen in my previous post - I'm standing next to a famous singer - Tallia Storm !! I found out after but at the time I thought she looked so cool with that hair.

Andddd here I met one my my favourite bloggers - The Glam and The Glitter

And time for some snaps around the lovely Kensington Gardens - and hey the sun was shining ! After watching the show I was quite happy I wore this skirt - suede fringed leather was a big part of the collection. I'd have preferred wearing higher heeled boots with this skirt but then I wouldn't have made it through the day and I had other shows, unlike the stars I didn't have a driver :).

Shoes is the hardest part about dressing for fashion week even just in terms of luggage weight and even though I haven't worn really high heels, right this minute whilst I'm typing this out my feet are sobbing and asking for a massage.

Now for some of my favourite looks from the collection - if you haven't watched the show you should watch it here - it's worth watching even if you're not into fashion, simply for the most amazing music by Claire Maguire.

The clothes, inspired by Durham quilting, presented were a mixture of suede, multicoloured prints, lots of fringes, swirls and florals and patchwork. The fabrics scream luxury, the coats unbelievably lux and they just make you want to lose yourself inside them. This particular coat in shearling intarsia featuring a floral design below is my favourite.

There was a lot of suede and this cape has so much texture and so much character, wearing it would ensure a wonderful day.

These Bohemian almost Mexican-influenced dresses are lovely with some beautiful detailing.

And because accessories are always one of Burberry's main things...here's the updated cashmere scarf and right below it one of my favourite bags

Now for some interesting news - parts of the collection can actually be shopped online right now until March 9, otherwise it will hit stores next Autumn.

I'd like to know when it's going to hit Malta ..what do you say Sarto (Michelle) - will these beauties be in store next September ?

Outfit Post : London Fashion Week : Day 3

I started off the day with breakfast at the fabulous Sketch and a braid  at the popup THE BRAID BAR store that was setup at Sketch  for London Fashion Week. The concept is really interesting, they have a braid menu and addons you can do like these pom poms and rings.

After breakfast it was back to the shows

OUTFIT POST : AT ALTA ROMA DAY 2

Here's what I wore on Day 2 - it was still freezing and it was also raining - this was a really fun day - the morning wasn't busy with shows so I spent it walking around the shops, there was an afterparty and we ate at the Roscioli Salumeria - brilliant!

BTW check out my nails in the photo above - I think they're the star of the outfit (thanks Femme Beauty Attard for this combo) - I'm really enjoying having long pointed/ almond shaped  nails although they are so impractical - the amount of delicate scarves they keep inserting themselves into is getting out of hand, they seem to get caught in everything and if you accidentally scratch yourself - it hurts!

I'm really happy with this hat - I bought it from River Island on sale for like 4 euros and it's pure wool so kept me really warm.

Outfit Post : At Alta Roma Day 1

This weekend was mostly spent indoors - the hubby has a nasty case of food poisoning and all my countless weekend plans went straight into the 'rubbish bin'. However, last weekend was a brilliant one - I spent it in Rome for AltaRoma, watching beautiful haute-couture, AltaModa fashion, eating too much food, shopping (any doubt ?) and meeting with the other members of the Chamber of Fashion Malta to discuss upcoming projects.

Here's what I wore on Day 1 - first of all it was freezing - freezing and fashion don't go well together, and then to make matters worse, inside the show locations was of course, heated and hot and stuffy. It's also impossible not to need to walk, even if you use taxis, you need to walk to the taxi stand and Rome is full of cobbles, some broken....I think if I lived in Rome I'd retire all my heels...

Below and Above - at the show in the Alta Roma official show tent.

Back onto the streets.................I'm in love with this Enrico Coveri coat - a very recent birthday present from the parents - in Rome I realised it's also very, very warm since it's made of 100% wool.

Thank the heavens for sneakers / trainers and their current return into the fashion world.

Because it was so cold I ended up wearing two pairs of thermal tights and socks on top of each other - my walk felt a tad bit restricted..

Outfit Post : A few weeks back....

Before straight hair, before Christmas, I went shopping to my favourite place in Malta - Valletta. I decided to wear an outfit based around different shades of cream and white with some blue and a whole lot of colour in one shawl. I also wore one of my favourite pairs of shoes this Winter, extremely comfy shoes Dockers (from Stivaletti) made from blue suede leather that I'm obsessed with when worn with skinny jeans of the same shade.. I just love the way the laces tie around the shoe.

Shopping : Sneak Peek at F&F

F&F opens tomorrow!! The store opens at Daniel's Shopping Complex and this evening I got a sneek peek at the shop and merchandise. I'm really loving the actual shop, it's really pleasant, one of those shops you will enjoy shopping in, there's lots of space, merchandise is laid out well, there's a cool industrial interior design and music playing on the speakers.

The clothes themselves are great, the prices are pretty affordable and the quality is pretty good - my fave picks are a faux fur long black coat (right below...68 euros).. a mustard top with bell sleeves...all the pjs and slippers and the fluffy sweaters. There are a couple of boxes in some of the shots as this is literally a sneak peek before it opens whilst they were still unpacking.

Urban Travel : Beige Coats & BUBBLES

If you're a regular reader of this blog you may have got a slight inkling that I'm a  child at heart. I do believe that inkling may be correct because when I was in a sweet shop (Camilleri in Valletta and I almost bought EVERYTHING) and saw this bubble making device, I couldn't resist. Plus I think the colours of the bubbles blend in perfectly with my beige coat and patterned scarf from MEXX...

This styling idea of wearing a coat over a shorter dress or skirt is a great idea for petite women. The style works especially well with coats like this that have a belt or tie-around of some sort. If you're on the shorter side like me, that little bit of flesh showing (in my case my knees) can help to make you look slightly taller. A lot of people tend to shy away from earth and light colours during Winter but I think they look even more beautiful especially if your skin tone is on the darker side.

Trends Post : 'Tis the season 4 a YELLOW coat

It's Christmas soon and I've already put my little Xmas trees out - time for snow, coats, wellies, gloves...yes I still live in Malta.. maybe the snow part is a little bit of an exaggeration.......but the temperatures have already dropped and I was quite cold and miserable last Saturday.

This brings us to yellow , now I know some people dislike wearing yellow but for me yellow is the colour of the sun, the colour of happiness and bright, happy days, on a cold winter day yellow lifts up my spirits and makes me smile.....yellow just plainly rules.

This really pretty and warm coat from MAX&Co. Sliema is pretty, warm, and best of all YELLOW. You can wear something like this literally anywhere - the bright colour makes it a lovely daytime coat but the fur adds a touch of elegance so it would also look lovely over a glitzy piece...I'm in love with it.
