Urban Travel : Beanies and Festivities AHOY

It's beanie weather and I couldn't be happier - it's also festive season soon which means time to start sourcing those statement pieces. This high-waisted, black skirt from MEXX couldn't be more perfect.

The fit is amazing, the pattern eye catching and he colour..- well black is a 'non-colour' so it can match with sooo many different colours. I decided to mix it up a little and show how versatile it is - I paired it with a floral sheer top, a beanie, and this brilliant anorak / coat. This is a great outfit for when you want to be dressed up not too dressed up.

To make it a bit 'dressier' you could switch to a coat or cape, remove the beanie and add a pair of delicate heels.

ALDO + CAROLINE'S FASHION STYLING

If you like Winter Clothes, living in Malta and waiting for Winter to arrive can be an absolute pain, at least, we can console ourselves with wearing Winter Shoes - we can withstand our feet feeling a little warmer in the name of fashion right

SO it's time to think about our Winter Shoe wardrobe and for a little bonus Caroline's Fashion Styling has teamed up with ALDO once again to offer you guys 30% off my top 5 picks in the store.

For this season ALDO are focusing on their customers finding their #perfectpair - whatever perfect may mean to you - so let me explain my #perfectpair choices a little bit. I've given you a little variety.

We've got the wonderful PIEDIM that were actually featured in Project Runway - they're absolutely gorgeous, I confess I do have a soft spot for booties however much the man in my life tells me he hates them..but these ones I find a bit special - the leather is so soft and that detail around the edge *drool*. I find these shoes the #perfectpair to wear with a knee length skirt or a nice pair of jeans for a night out.

Then there's the AREWIA which I bought myself at the start of the season before this collab simply because I love sneaker wedges, silver metallic always looks cool and they caught my eye. They are the perfect shoes for running around in every day, I pair them with skinny jeans, skirts, dresses - everything.

NONELLA interest me because they're navy blue and you just don't see a lot of riding boots in navy blue. These look great with skinny jeans or again a dress, especially a slightly bohemian one and a fedora hat.

And then there's BRICIEN, and now I falter simply because I'm not quite sure what to say, these little dainty / coloured / patterned / multi-textured / sexy / perfect shoes are quite frankly love at first sight. Can one walk in them ? Honestly..who the hell cares they're the perfect date night shoes.

And now for the men....my choice EXIR was based on different reasoning here - these shoes are perfect simply because - there's no need to tie your laces - they're simply slip on - perfectly lazy shoes.

News Flash : Kiabi's Celebrating & Something New

kiabi malta
This post has a lot of news in it - first things first, I've finally given in to peer pressure - you know who you are, all you pregnant / mummy friends - there are going to be some family-oriented fashion posts. This means kiddies' fashion, maternity wear, newborn cute-as-hell clothes and all that jazz. I'm going to be collaborating with Kiabi Malta for some of these posts because they've got an unbelievable selection at some really great prices and as much as I love luxury fashion, kids grow out of them way too quickly, it just doesn't seem worth it somehow. Kiabi isn't just a kids shop - they've got everything including a brilliant workout section, I'll be talking about all of this but I'm targeting kiddies and their wallets mainly.

So for those who don't know where Kiabi in Malta is - it's right next to Lidi in Qormi and that has to be a landmark of sorts right ? There's a cake shop too and a bus terminus, I suggest shopping for clothes before shopping for food, I think it's a better order.

So now onto the news flash - well Kiabi is celebrating this Friday - and they've got super discounts on their already low-priced stock - so here's what's on offer

There will also be presentation of new collections*****Nibbles and drinks****  Free mini makeover (including hair & make-up). So Friday at 7:30 it's family shopping time and ****they're serving nibbles so no stopping at Lidl

OUTFIT POST : SHOES & CAVES WITH ALDO

This post serves multiple purposes - besides showcasing my outfit and the beautiful Ghar Lapsi in Malta, there's a focus on ALDO. I've hinted in a few earlier posts that there's a collaboration going on between me, myself & ALDO and this is D-DAY - announcement day.

Here's the story - I've been asked to pick my favourite 5 shoes in the shop (and these are clearly labelled in the Sliema store) and I've also put an outfit and taken photos with my ultimate favourite pair...andddd there's more - for a few days only these 5 styles will be on special discount  ...so keep listening out for this.

Whenever I set foot inside ALDO, much to my husband's chagrin, I rarely leave empty handed and the truth is he rarely does either. I love their shoes and it therefore wasn't easy to pick just 5 styles, it actually took me about thirty minutes of deliberation

Here's the lowdown on my choices - FEMALE first - I've chosen a variety - the two high heeled sandals will look great with skinny jeans, skirts, dresses - anytime you feel like getting all dressed up (the black pair match with most colours and are one of those investment pieces that you can wear for years to come, the coloured pair are a lot more fun and perfect for summer). Then there's the ultra-cool flat, shocking-lime green sandals with a cork footbed that are absolutely fantastically cooler than cool (there are other colours too).

The pair I've selected as my ultimate favourite and that I actually bought for my and myself are the white and sand wedges with a stacked heel and gold hardware. These shoes manage to accomplish what only super shoes can do, they're super (yes I've used super twice in one sentence) comfy and they're actually smart and look super (and here's the third) stylish on your feet.

But the shoe that gets the most attention is my one male style - with the ultimate awesome feature - an orange & blue heel - I forced my hubby to buy these, he tried to resist at first but ultimately had to acknowledge the awesomeness that is these shoes.

So for this outfit post I decided to go for a laid-back look and pair these shoes with a versatile denim dress and a huge floppy hat, also from ALDO. I'm also showcasing a major trend this summer, that of wearing just one statement earring.
