Outfit Post : It's a Monochrome Affair

Something new, something comfortable ..such was the order of the day when choosing an outfit to wear to yesterday's event and work backstage. I didn't actually spend a whole day in this outfit though, this was just for nighttime work..I wore something else before that will get its own limelight in weeks to come. This Spring / Summer I'm really in the mood for white, white white, lots of monochrome and plenty of graphical patterns.

I decided to have my hair braided for the first few days of fashion week - this was actually their second day, their first night was the launch party last night.

RISING with TWEED shoes & FRINGES

Last summer when it was still you know warm and stuff I wrote about ALDO and their collaboration with OSTWALD HELGASON. Because now it's cold and stuff there's a Winter edition and this new collection has made it to the ALDO store at The Point, Malta. Since I'm a shopaholic who is addicted to all things slightly unique I had to get myself a pair.


Now let's talk about this SKIRT - fringes, fringes, fringes and all things western are everywhere this year, if you're a cowboy, you've got the gear all sorted, otherwise you might have to scout some. This suede skirt with turquoise stone beading is a gem I was given as a present but I did scout this brilliant option and this other one for you.

Shopping Post : Rising on your big toes for ALDO RISE x OSTWALD HELGASON

ALDO RISE is an initiative by ALDO to support daring designs within the world of fashion. Previous collaborations included Peen and this year they collaborated with London-based street style label OSTWALD HELGASON. Susanne Ostwald and Ingvar Helgason (German-Icelandic couple) are the brains behind their exciting designs.

Why am I talking about this ? Well the collection has finally made it to the ALDO store at The Point, Malta along with some bags too (photo below). 

This is is pretty great as generally I've found that, ignoring the fact that Maltese people love and buy designer labels, with most high-street franchises, their more expensive/special lines rarely make it to our island. I know we can buy whatever we want online or when we travel ...but it's not really the point, it's a step in the right direction that the brand has chosen to market their designer collection in Malta - so I'm smiling and giving a thumbs up to ALDO.  

Of course, I had to own a pair of these babies myself and went to get a pair yesterday :D. I'm not telling which ones I chose (you know the drill...wait for the outfit post) but they are all pretty amazing and I did spend 15 minutes deliberating between two styles.
